Nyagira Tshirt & JANM Hello Kitty closing event

And, coming up Friday May 22nd, 2015, I’ll be attending the special closing Party for the Japanese American National Museum Hello Kitty 40th show. A bunch of artists in the show will be there, too, signing books. I look forward to meeting you all and I’m not suppose to say, but there should be one last Hello Kitty Kaiju released 😉

Glitter Negora Mecha Nekoron Kaiju Eyezon

We’ve got three cool releases !!!

First up, these all glitter Kaiju Negora 😉 No paint on them so you can enjoy the clear vinyl with glitter infused in them ! We’ll post any left overs in the Max Toy web store on Tuesday May 5th, 2015. Warning they may sell out to Club members ;-(

Second, we have a new colorway of Mecha Nekoron ! This on white vinyl, with black details, silver spray and red eyes ! Nothing like a Mecha Cat in my book 😉 Posting up tomorrow as well to the web store.

Finally, check out Vinyl Kaiju Legion web site, as we once again offer a micro run of x4 Kaiju Eyezons painted with monster Kolor paints exclusively through them ! Each is hand numbered and signed on the feet. So go over there and buy one or more !!!

Orange Negora & ToyCon UK

New orange Kaiju Negora goes on sale tomorrow in our web store ! Very limited quantities and hand painted by Mark Nagata. Max Club members get first chance on them … and this weekend is ToyCon UK ( http://toyconuk.com ) in London. Have a micro run of these two Negoras available at the HangGang booth. Also have some customs at the Kaiju Monster table (http://www.kaijumonster.com). And saw this auction via Mandarke for a Captain Maxx original illustration. We had commissioned this a few years back for a Max Toy event and print and looks like the original is up for bidding in June. 😉

Mini Kaiju Eyezon with Glow Guts

First offering to Max Toy Club members, is this Clear vinyl mini Kaiju Eyezon with glow in dark guts ! Each gut has a black paint rub to bring out the details with hand painted outside details by Mark Nagata. Cast in Japan by master vinyl man, Shimizu-san, we will post limited quantities tomorrow ( Tuesday April 7th, 2015 ) via the web store.

Hello Kitty exhibit JANM Japanese American National Museum

Finally was able to to see the awesome Hello Kitty 40th anniversary exhibit at JANM Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles this past weekend. Really well displayed show with history and vintage Kitty stuff in galleries below and upstairs artists versions of Hello Kitty. My custom Kaiju ( Drazoran ) Hello Kitty and I were reunited ;-P

And yes, there’s another Hello Kitty Kaiju figure release via the museum very soon for those who are keeping track of that ;-P

The show runs till May 31st, 2015, so don’t miss it ! Check out their online shop as well for a must have book on the exhibit. More info: http://www.janm.org

Besides attending Monster Palooza ( my current favorite con ), had to stop by for our annual Disneyland adventure 😉 Hard to believe I’ve been coming here for 51 years now (!!)

Max Boy sculpt

Above is the Max Boy sculpt by Makino-san of TTToys, which I think captures not only the spirit of Max, but also pays homage to Japanese mascot figures like Sony Boy 😉 Sculpt is based on a sketch I provided.

Once again, Javier Jimenez provided a killer header card design as well. Currently the figure is at the iron molds factory and we should have test shots any day now. From there, paint masks and once those are done we can go into production ! Probably looking at late April or early May release ..I’ll post more updates here.. or follow my Instagram feed for more peeks !

Max Toy Updates March 22, 2015

Excited to be offering you a micro run of Alien Argus figures exclusively thru Vinyl Kaiju Legion web site. It’s been a few years since offering a full sized Argus so nows your chance to grab one of only 3 in this edition 😉 They go up for sale on Monday. By the way, while you’re there check out the cool toys they have for sale and if you’re looking for something be sure and email them… cool folks !

I’ve been slowly adding a few new customs to the web store including this clear with guts mini Kaiju Eyezon, plus more coming up.

Also the Max Boy figure is at the iron molds factory so hope to have test shots in about 10 days, than off for paint masks. I think a late April / May due date (!) While ALL of my figures I love, this one is really a very personal one and I’ve thought about it for many, many years 😉 Thanks to the oh so talented Javier Jimenez for the super cool header card posted here as well.BY the way, congrats to Javier on raising nearly double the funds he needed for his upcoming Wananeko soft vinyl figure. I’d keep my eye on this kid 😉

And, don’t forget, our Nyagira Cat online show ! Full line up and show card posted. All the pieces will be posted on April 10th, via maxtoyco.com. More details as we get closer, and if you search under #Nyagira you’ll see some really cool in progress customs !

Coming up more customs for ToyConUK HangGang & KaijuMonsteR booths and a FOE gallery custom show all in April. Ringo Racoon should be up for sale in the USA too, we sold a few this past Saturday in Osaka… but don’t worry the same figure will be here too.
Pre Ordered Painted King Negoras should also be done end of March, for early April shipping, thank you for waiting.

Tiny delay in the next Hello Kitty Kaiju release at JANM but it’s in production and looking like a April release. The show has been extended thru May with new additions so be sure and check it out.

OK there’s more coming but I have to get back to painting >_<
