Kaiju Paint Party 2, will be held at the Design Festa Gallery (east) Harajuku, Tokyo, August 17-18th, 2019. The first day, for a small fee, you can paint a Max Toy blank, using a provided airbrush and paints. Plus watch famous Japanese Toy Makers paint in person ! I’m still recovering from Kaiju Con 2019, but in a nutshell it far exceed my expectations ! Plus, the crazy thing is the tickets sold out at the door and they actually had to turn away people wanting to come into the show ! They could see the museum and of course the Kaiju vs Heroes show at least.
I was pulled in many directions, we had a booth, a signing with Gerald Okamura, a Paint Demo and Toy Talk also.

These stunning FrankenMerrick soft vinyl figures are made by Miscreation Toys / Jeremi Rimel. The details are super impressive and to be honest the challenge for me was to paint them to show off these details but not lose the anatomy or over all look of the figure ( if that makes sense). I had great fun with each and as you see, there are now 3 different versions in our web store ! First up, is FrankenMerrick in his Black and White movie appearance ( as imagined !)

Now Sold Out ! – First up we have a fully painted Man of Many Weapons, Gerald Okamura figure !
Fully cast and painted in Japan. They came out great ! Sculpted by Makino-san of TTToys perfectly captures The Legend ! Buy one ( or more !) now here !
And, as if that wasn’t cool enough, we have not one, but two brand new Mecha Drazoran ! The Amazing MechaZone does it once again ! Perfectly 3D sculpted and printed mecha parts that seamlessly fit into the sofubi Kaiju Drazoran β¦ the result is Mecha Drazoran ! Choose from Green based vinyl or Pink based vinyl. Retail is $225 each. Green is limited to x8 pieces, while the Pink is limited to x7 pieces. Can’t stress the work Mechazone put into the design of these pieces but also the printing and finishing of them.
Each features paint work by Mark Nagata. Hand dry brushed gold painted mecha parts. Extra parts are included should you want to display Drazoran in normal Kaiju mode ( pictures below ) π

sThe Cranbrook Art Museum in Michigan has a new exhibit called “Wild Vinyl: Designer Art Toys”. We are lucky to have a some Max Toy figures in the Sofubi ( soft vinyl ) section πΒ Show runs till June 2019 !
Fantastic Dcon ! Thank you for all the kind words and support !! I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the fans who came up to say “Hello” and who saw the “Kaiju vs Heroes” exhibit at the Japanese American National Museum !! When we were planning the museum exhibit, it was my hope that if anything my story would inspire people to pursue their dreams and that you can do it !
We sold out of almost everything we brought … have only x3 Kanegon and x3 glow Otters so will post them later today. A few customs will post as well π
The bigger Dcon venue allowed for more room for the crowds which was nice and of course more vendors. I wish I had more time to just wander the con and didn’t get to connect with everyone I wanted too .. but we’ll be back next year π So many talented artists at the show .. I highly recommend attending next year if you can.
