Shanghai Toy Show 2018 Max Toy Booth CO2

I’m off to Shanghai, we have a booth( CO2 ) at this huge show called Shanghai Toy Show (STS). Our booth mates include Jay222 and Aaron Arel of UhOh Toys.

The prep for this was pretty grueling for me … before I started a fellow artist told me to prepare up to x500 pieces (!!) I mostly paint my figures, so there’s really no way I could do this … but i think I managed to paint a nice selection of micro runs ( pic above ) and some one offs.

I won’t be updating or posting at all while I’m gone because from China, because no Facebook / Instagram  ;-P

Well, you can if you do some tech stuff, but I just didn’t want to go thru all the steps, so I won’t  😉

And, if you buy anything from our site starting today, April 1st thru April 9th, we will not be shipping till April 10th ;-P

I’ll make a post once I get back, so wish me luck in bring back an empty suit case 😉

and I’m on VERO app, now ;-P Its very unstable at the moment …and so far, hard for me to post, but no ads and I guess folks hate Instagram now .. anyways, I’ll post in both places, plus Facebook and Twitter .. we’ll see how long a 53 year old can keep up  😉

Hi Max Toy Fans !
Phew … ! I painted a mix of micro runs of our most popular figures, a few factory paints and of course one of a kind painted figures for Dcon.
I’m packed and ready to drive down to Dcon ! Excited to be setting up there at Table TE17 😉 Come say Hello to Max and Myself !
As many of you may know, I have not set up at the USA show in over 9 years !
Anyways, I’m bring all the above plus a ton of smaller one offs and some Max Toy stock. A good time to see the stuff up close and of course buy ;-P
Also have stuff from Jay222, Javier Jimenez and Doug Hardy. Doug will also be the booth both days, and selling his brand new resin, Witch Cat Lulu ! Very cute hand cast and painted figure so check her out !
By the way, everything is first come, first served .. but on the Tiger Boss / Office cats it’s one of each type per person, per order.
I will have a test shot of our newest figure, Sofubi-man on display as well !! My tribute to the men & women who cast these figures in Japan. This figure will release very soon, so stay tuned for more details.
Also, excited to be finally revealing publicly at Dcon, my Japanese toy collection / art show at the Japanese American National Museum in Sept 2018 !!

I’ve worked on this for over 2 years now and we are coming down to the final months before the opening. Much more info as we get closer and some cool stuff planned so stay tuned !

Max Toy Table TE17 Dcon Exclusives Part 1

Hi Folks ! Here’s the first round of Dcon ( http://www.designercon.com/ ) exclusives we’ll have at our Max Toy Company table TE17 ( end aisle ).

Also look for special micro runs and one offs from Jay222, Javier Jimenez, Doug Hardy, Michael Devera and Todd Robertson !!

Plus we’ll bring some stock items ( figures, pins, keychains ) as well. I will be at the booth pretty much all day Saturday & Sunday (minus some walking around time) so look forward to seeing you all ! As you know, I rarely attend USA shows and haven’t had a booth/table in the US in 8-9 years ? ;-P

All items are first come, first served and one item per person, please.

Max Toy Updates

A bunch of updates … so here we go !

Tomorrow, Friday, May 12, 2017  at a random time I will be posting up x4, one of a kind @planetxasia Mecha Goliathon ! I’ll only tease the figures below… but i spent awhile on each one and think they represent some of my best work to date. The figure, itself, is a joy to work with and you should see what other Kaiju they are coming out with. In any case, check the Max Toy web store and good luck !

New TriPus colorway almost done .. this one on Clear sofubi ! I’ll post them up for sale very soon … well, as soon as they ship from Tokyo ;-P

Our newest Kaiju, “Crusher G”, test shot is shown above .. makes his debut at Design Festa Tokyo this month and not to worry we will be offering these in the USA soon ! This figure ( half Gorilla, half robot) goes along nicely with our Mecha Dino SaiKobi ! Sculpt by Pico Pico , of course !

We’ve also gone back to the vaults and made new molds for TriPasu ! First release is very soon, so keep watch !

Jay222 X Nagata Horror Cats customs

I’ve been a long time admirer of Artist Jay222‘s work. To be honest, I think he deserves a much wider recognition in this Toy World. The following 7 customs he’s applied his unique sculpts to, are a prime example of his talents.  Jay took several soft vinyl Max Toy Cats and went to town on them ! I think as you will see below, his “new” creations are Amazing ! While I applied paint to them, I tried my best to not distract from Jay’s hand sculpted details.
