Over a year in the making, we are proud to show our brand new gachapon series called Gacha-Maxx ! x10 new soft vinyl figures (sofubi), standing ( r laying down) aprox 3 inches tall.
Our secret agent man in Japan, Yo Miyamoto (Monster Boogie), working with the talented sculptors (listed below) have really come up with a wonderfully varied and imaginative set I think you will agree !
These will be available here on this web site, but also only in gachapon machines in Japan only via One Up store & DaiKaiju Salon !
Below are the figures in test shot form, final release will be around April/ May 2016. I will sell them separately and in sets. All will be available unpainted and painted.
Look for a special surprise chase figure as well π

Hi All ! A few updates, I’m, sorry the Wonderfest post is late ( the event is over and the items have sold ). This time we sold all, one day license items, meaning there were no sales outside the event. Mostly from GeGeGe-No-Kitaro and bottom right, Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh.
And coming very soon Max Toy X Monster Boogie, we will release x10 different gachapon style figure series, called Gacha-Max ! Don’t worry I have order them for USA π Most sculpted by Makino-san ( TTToys ) and Ozawa-san ( One eyed cat and octopus ). More details soon !

Firstly, I want to thank all the folks who pre ordered many months ago. Your orders all went out today, nearly 3-1/2 months laterΒ ;-(
I’m really not sure why it took so long, but I can say the figure is stunning in hand ! The good news is we have stock of them and would make a nice Holiday present for your Kaiju Cat loving fansΒ π
I’m randomly posting up a few customs too … so keep checking back !
By the way, did you know you can pose King Negora into three different poses ? Standard is up right like Godzilla .. but you can twist him into a cat like attack pose … or simply as a baby sitting there ( below ! ) Meow !

Ah ! Finally the pre order Kaiju King Negora’s are done and being shipped to me ! I’m sorry for the delays, but the last year has seen an explosion of new vinyl makers and far too many orders for the very small number of soft vinyl casting factories in Japan. Despite new factories coming online, it’s still not enough for the current demand. While Max Toys is lucky enough to get our orders, a few of the orders ( like this one) have been delayed by months. I had this conversation with another toy maker in Tokyo and we both agreed that many Americans seem to think all you have to do is pick up a phone in Japan and complain about an order being late to get them to go faster, but it’s really not that simple and culturally there’s other layers to this onion. One day I’ll write a blog about making sofubi in Japan … and the many encounters I’ve had with artists and makers who’ve tried to apply American “thinking” to a Japanese process… haha.. needless to say, that’s totally NOT the way to do it.
I appreciate your patience and we will ship these ASAP. I’ll post pics of the final painted versions in the next few days as well ! Meow !
New Kaiju Cat Nyagira mini sized soft vinyl (sofubi) figure now in the Max Toy web store. This was just released at the Design Festa show in Tokyo, Japan, last weekend. We only have a few left π
Meow ! Also for those who pre ordered the King Negora .. finally they are just about done at the painting factory ;-/ I’m so sorry it’s taken so long, but the delay is industry wide concerning soft vinyl production in Japan, I’m sorry to say.
