So this trip I’m getting to do stuff that in over 20 years of coming to Japan I’ve never done (!) one was a trip to visit the deer at Nara 🦌 Wasn’t crowded and I loved it ! In-between screaming children and adults we were nipped and lightly head butted for snacks that we didn’t have anymore 😵‍💫 Anyways farther up the road the deer mellowed out more 😆 You could pet their wet spongy noses too. After getting back to our room I had a small rip in my jacket from a deer bite 🤣 #naradeerpark #nagatacollection #deer

Bucket list achieved 🎉 So my parents (now deceased) who were born in the USA (in the late 1920s) only time to visit Japan was in 1970 attending Expo 70. I was too young to go but remember seeing long lost photos of their trip and this weird tower (!) Designed for the expo by artist surrealist Taro Okamoto called Tower of the Sun. Inside only photos allowed on the ground floor but we walked up to the top passing the creation of life towards the Sun. There’s life sized Dinos and even a giant ape(whose head was robotic but now is faceless non working !) Can’t really convey how cool this is.. after 55 years to see it myself ✨✨✨ #tarookamoto #expo70 #nagatacollection
