Note the Azumanga Daioh figures are only for sale at WF and one day only. We will not, and can not sell any outside this event ( for real ! ) So if you really want one you better ask a friend in Japan to go to this event and buy one for you ;-P I will have a few pieces of the offer items and will offer them to Max Toy Club members after WF, any left overs will post to the Max Toy web store. Say "hello" to Yo Miyamoto and also pick up your Monster Kolor paints at our table too ;-) ======================== 01/31/12 - Negoras Sold Out ! Lady Darkness nearly Sold Out ! Thank you everyone for the amazing response today ! In brief we had so many orders at once that we had a small meltdown in our web store ;-P Well not to make light of it, several folks thought their orders went through but alas this was not correct. We're fixing the problem and planning to beef up the web store. If you missed this Negora, your next chance will be in February. This Tuesday , 1/31/12 via the Max Toy web store we will have these new figures available ! A brand new Max Toy x Konatsu Kaiju Negora and the debut of our newest mini villian, Lady Darkness ! As you can see the Face version has sold out to Max Club Members, however the Masked version is still available. First come, First served ! Here's an update on the Lady Maxx comic book project, today we have artist TOVI. Hmmm whats happening in the middle image (!) and that guy in the right image looks like someone I know.. ;-P These ar far from finished but I think you can get the direction she's going it... very cool ! I'll post more peeks soon .. it's going to be a really fun project with many different takes on Lady Maxx, Captain Maxx and much more ! 1/25/12 - Todd Robertson Mecha Kaiju Dualos ... soon !! Above is a work in progress ( WiP ) page I did for the upcoming Lady Maxx comic book project. Over the next month I'll be announcing the artist line up and giving sneak peeks at the artwork ;-) While this has been a ton of work for me it's also been great fun ! In other news, yes the newest Negora and finally Lady Darkness will be done at the paiont factory and shipping .. I can't tell you how much I've been waiting for these to arrive (!) ...well almost for us in the USA, but Max Toy friends and fans overseas are already in 2012 ! Our last update for this year includes this one of a kind custom called Gara-Eyezon ! A mash up of Garamon and Eyezon ! It's for the upcoming show at FOE Gallery, called Garamaniacal ;-P .. a tribute show to the character Garamon ! I'll post more info in the coming weeks about this show. Upcoming events in 2012 include my 2 person show with artist Konatsu in Tokyo, 3/31-4/1 .. and a Fun event for Los Angeles in April ;- ) details on that soon ! Yes, the new Kaiju Neogra, Lady Darkness and more are coming .. they got stuck at the paint factory.. and as you know New Years is a big deal in Japan... so i must wait (> <) and you, too ! It will be worth it though. I want to wish you all a Happy New Years ! Now in the Max Toy store the follow up piece to our Mount Kobo painted Kaiju Drazorus .. we have Kaiju Dragigus ! Hand painted over a flesh base and using classic retro Kaiju colors. A beautiful piece by a master artist. 12/16/11 - Japan Event - Treasure Festa - Exclusive release Azumanga Daioh figures from Max Toy !
Azumanga Daioh figures will be for sale only in Japan at the Treasure Festa show 12/18/2011 ! Joining the previously released Chiyo Chan and Kami Neko figures ( above left ) are the mysterious "Father" figure or Chiyo-chichi, who floats around the series and the rare Cat, Yamamaya ! To give you sense of scale, the Father figure is taller than Chiyo Chan who is 7.25 inches tall ! These new figures are for display only and will be released in Feb 2012 at Wonderfest. These are all one day license figures for Japan only and as such we can not sell them in the US, sorry to say. But if you have friends in Japan have them stop by Max Toy Booth 24 - C ;-) 12/13/11 - Todd Robertson Custom Micro Eyezons ! UpDate - Only 3 remain !
Artist Todd Robertson works his mecha magic on these Micro Eyezons and does not disappoint ! Each is hand crafted with tiny componets and hand painted to perfection ! 11/09/11 - Max Toy x Kaiju Korner figure and print set !
Up for sale via Kaiju Korner web site , November 15th, 2011 at 11:00 pm (Tokyo Time) is this very cool set of Kaiju Dragigus & Kaiju TriPus + hand signed and numbered giclee print by Irene Fu ! I'll have a full step by step report on my Toy Karma blog, but i painted these figures and sent them over to Irene, who hand painted her designs onto each one. I'm amazed she could get such fine brushwork onto the surface of these mini Kaiju... really beautiful work ! Inaddition Irene painted this crazy Kabuki scene !!! .. which reminds me of my trips to Japan ;-)
