07/28/10 - SDCC wrap up , Kaiju Eyezon Pin debuts, and Red Carpet Kaiju show !!!
Matt Walker and myself at Comic Con, we had a blast at StrangeCo and Rotofugi booths , of the 30+ pieces I bought, all but 4 pieces sold ;-) thank you to all who came out to say hello and for your support of Max Toys ! see my full report on my Toy karma blog here ! and I debuted this new , nearly 2 inch tall pin of Kaiju Eyezon ! A collab between BeBop Designs / Keith Fumis and myself .. limited to 100 pieces ..I'm very excited about these new pins, a new way to collect Kaiju ! This will be the first in a series of pins featuring various Max Toy Kaiju and Heroes. Will post to the web store in a few days.
and the painted Mini Kaiju's have shipped from Japan ( yah ! ) if you pre -ordered them, thank you for waiting, they will ship first week of August. Coming in September Toy Art Gallery's Red Carpet Kaiju show ! more details soon, I will be there along with the new figure, Alien Argus !!!

Alien Argus aka Argus Seijin is a new figure being produced by Toy Art Gallery and designed by Max Toy / Mark Nagata. Fully Made in Japan, this new standard size figure is shown only 80% done .. but still we are so thrilled we wanted to reveal the new guy to you all ! We hope tohave test shots at SDCC but if not for sure we will have the first painted editions in time for Toy Art Galleries Red Carpet Kaiju show in August ! 06/14/10 - Mark Nagata to Speak at Morikami Museum , Florida !
I'm honored to be asked to give a lecture / talk along with super Japanese toy colelctor, Jim Levy, this October 6th, 2010 , at the Morikamai Museum in Florida ! The exhibition which showcases hundreds of Jim's collection is called Kaiju Monster Invasion ! and is currently on display. Jim sent along these fantastic pictures .. I'm so looking forward to seeing the show and the Museum.... As you can see it looks beautiful, and I'm so glad the Morikami Museum has the foresight to show these beautiful works of art and their history in such a prestigious setting. I look forward to seeing Japanese toy fans in October !

Limited to 10 pieces ( including 3 chase Polka Dot versions ! ) , each hand numbered and signed, by artist Mark Nagata. Mark used Monster Kolors with a gold pearl over spray and clear coated to glossy perfection ! Feast your eyes on these pics ;-) Matt Walker of Dead Presidents Designs has been VERY busy prepping , painting and filming (!) these gigantic fiberglass Kaiju Eyezons over the past few weeks !! Using his own paint line called Monster Kolor paint, Matt has been hand spraying these with his usual attention to vibrant colors and details .. for those of you who own a custom painted Matt Walker toy you know exactly what i mean... I only have in progress shots so far .. but we will be posting all 10 finished figures in their glory very soon !
Each of these 10 unique pieces will not disappoint.. from the candy colors down to the color change flakes used and final clear coating .. Matt pulled out all the stops ! Beautifully sculpted by Hobby Master - Rommel , this project is a collab between Goliga Books and Max Toy Company.

well itis finally out now ;-) a bit late but better late than never ! From author Ivan Vartanian and Collins Books ... sporting a Max Toy/ Dream Rockets Drazoranon the cover (!) has a nice spot varnish of scales over the Drazoran... inside there is a nice cross section of very talented artists , a few I was not familiar with but they are awesome ! My page below has a see-thru cross section of Eyezon ;-) Check your local bookstores or order it on Amazon !

Here's the proto painted mini Capt Maxx ( painted by Me ) in what will be their first painted release versions ... Note colors may change slightly and the final production pieces will be painted by Dead Presidents Designs, Presidential Coatings division ( meaning by Matt Walker himself ! ) using his Monster Kolor paints ! The Kaiju will be painted by Goto-san in Japan ;-) phew ... many more projects in process and to be unveiled this year .... ! 04/07/10 - Boxes ?!!

No doubt due to Mr Walkers paints via his Presidential Coatings division ;-) Look for more collabs between Max toys and Dead Pres real soon ;-) ================================== 03/26/10 - Ceramic Kaiju Eyezon Although now sold out my ceramic Kaiju Eyezon made by Mairuzu has been accepted into the next Spectrum Fantastic Arts book, Vol 17 ! I believe the book comes out in Nov 2010.
